Kim Whanki's Japan life began when he transferred to Nishigishi high school in Japan. Basically his art being life started in 1933, two years after his Japan life, since he enrolled to Nihon University college of art.
He trained under Fujida Suguju and Togo seijin whom just came back after studying in Europe, they taught Cubism, Futurism to Kim Whanki.
Before Kim Whanki came back to Korea he involved in activities, and held Group Exhibitions ‘Jayoujeon’ ‘Baekmanhoe’ with his friends, with Yoo Youngkuk, Moon Hak-soo, Lee Jung-seop, Lee Kyou-sang and other friends. They became all the pioneers in Korean Abstract art.
