2016 Whanki Museum Creative Competition

The Whanki Museum presents the great opportunity to take part in 《Whanki Creative Competition》 in 2016, called ‘Prix Whanki.’ This competition has great significance for succession to ‘Prix Whanki’ that encourages artists since The Whanki Foundation was established. In addition, this creative competition is designed to celebrate the one hundredth anniversary of the birth of HyangAn KIM, who is Whanki’s a faithful spouse, a life time companion, and the founder of Whanki Foundation & Whanki Museum.

1. Announcement Period : March 23 ~ May 24. 2016

2. Guideline for Application :
The artist should build and reflect own unique ‘SPACE’ to special exhibition hall on 2F Annex building in The Whanki Museum. This space has the size of 108.38㎡. This indicates the artist should be present the site-specific work in this space.

3. Submission period : May 25 ~ (4pm) May 31. 2016 (Application must be submitted by 4pm May 31. 2016)
Submission method : We only accept the application by ‘E-mail’ (whanki02@naver.com)

4. The Selection of Art work
– Juding period : June 1 ~ June 6. 2016
– Announcement for selection : (Tue) June 7, 2016. Please check on the board at Whanki Museum Website.
– Workshop for selected Artists : June 8 ~ June 11. 2016

5. Exhibition
– Exhibition I / II (for selected works) : June – October. 2016

6. Eligibility
The competition is open to visual artists from around the world at any stage in their careers. Artists are invited to submit in any of mediums.
It is no matter that the art work was already submitted and awarded in other competitions. We welcome any art works that are proper to ‘Prix Whanki’ competition.
